Shri Shikshayatan School is a centre for providing quality education to girls in Kolkata. Keeping in mind the rich and diverse heritage of India, the scholastic and co-scholastic activities are geared to nurture academic excellence. The school promotes core knowledge, communication and collaborative skills and new emerging technologies to make students “Future ready” to meet the ever changing demands of the twenty first century. We also teach foreign languages like German, French and Mandarin to our students. We have five computer labs and tablet teaching is taking place in the middle school. We also have well equipped Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Nutrition and Geography laboratories. Our Mathematics lab is being maintained by NIIT. The two school libraries have over 30,000 books.

The school has a wide spectrum of co-curricular activities which help to hone diverse talents and imbibe leadership skills. We have 24 clubs, Robotics being one of them. Visual and Performing Arts classes are carried out in the cultural unit. Our girls learn classical dance, ballet, guitar, drums, tabla, art and craft, synthesizer, Indian and Western music. We have professional coaches to teach basketball, table tennis, rugby, acrobatics, swimming and karate. We offer opportunities to our students. Independent and creative thinking is encouraged so that the students inculcate the habit of learning continuously and accept “problems as challenges and challenges as opportunities in life”. All students have strengths and talents and we believe in developing it through partnership with the parents. We prepare our girls to have a bright and decisive career so that they grow as economically independent and confident adults.
